Our congratulations to Mario Gyr and his team for their gold medal in the Lightweight Men's Four competition in Rio.
Although this victory was a foregone conclusion, it was still the toughest race that the team had ever faced. The Swiss rowers gave the competition no opportunity on the second 1000 meters, thereby relegating Denmark and France to second and third place respectively. After the European and World Rowing Cup titles, this gold means everything to the team leader Mario Gyr Mario Gyr : “It is the crowning moment of my rowing career.”
