Bound by tradition
Like last time, the Bauberger stand this year once again aroused great interest among customers – and among apprentices such as Flavia and Alicia. These two are among the 25% of young women today who opt for training in a technical occupation. After completing a four-year apprenticeship, they will be designers with a Federal VET Diploma (FVD) and can pursue further training to become mechanical engineers.
Flavia (17), who enjoys drawing and painting, got into this occupation more or less by accident. That was not the case with Alicia (16). You could say she is continuing a family tradition: Her father and two older brothers are all engineers. It was only logical that the youngest in the family would also choose a technical occupation.
The two second-year apprentices were not really familiar with Bauberger AG before. However, after taking a look at the new flier (in german) they immediately knew that Bauberger AG relocated exactly the types of machines for which they were designing special components. And that it did so incredibly quickly. They were impressed. After filling out a questionnaire for their vocational school, they continued efficiently gathering information about other companies.
